Let's just jump over the fiscal cliff

As a middle-class liberal I find myself in a awkward position. After years of tax cuts to everyone and two wars, we are blessed with a failing infrastructure, poor education system and a economy that is sluggish, as well as two bickering political parties that are more worried about how they can make each other look bad than about working for us.

I say don't back over the fiscal cliff, run ... and jump off! That way all the automatic cuts and increases start taking place and we can start the process of getting rid of these self-serving jerks.

Yes, the spending cuts and tax increases would hurt, but we in the middle class will have to pay for them sooner or later anyway, so let's just get it over with.
