On the Sept. 21 editorial page, the PG endorsed Democrat Erin Molchany for the 22nd District seat of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives ("Molchany Has A Strong Understanding of the Issues"). The editorial indicated that Republican Chris Cratsley is a moderate Republican and even agrees with Erin Molchany on key issues. The editorial indicates that Mr. Cratsley should consider a run for Pittsburgh City Council, which you indicate could use a few Republicans.

I cannot remember in my lifetime, and I am 66, when a Republican was on Pittsburgh City Council. I am pretty sure that it was in the earlier 1930s.

I am pretty sure that if God ran for a city council seat as a Republican and the devil ran as a Democrat, the devil would win. I feel that I am pretty safe in saying that the majority of the people of Pittsburgh would not vote for a Republican even if their lives depended on it.
