Guns not the cause
Share with others:
It's time to look down the barrel of senseless tragedy -- and away from controls! Controlling guns held by law-biding citizens solves what?
What it does do: It removes the fear of the criminal that he could be met with opposition; it puts over 185,000 people working in the gun industry in the United States out of a job; it wipes away over $28 billion in economic activity; it instantly removes $1.9 billion in taxes collected from the gun industry and all of this because we attack the result and not the cause of tragic events.
We need to look at cause. How do we help those with mental health issues and force families to seek help? How do we prevent hate crimes in this country? How do we educate our youth and help them separate the violence portrayed in movies, computer games, music and TV shows from reality?
It's time to let mental health issues out of the closet and help those in need. For us to walk the streets without fear, it starts with looking inside for causes to understand the mindset of someone who hates enough to kill.
You can take away every gun, every knife, every car, every tire iron and so on -- but disturbed people will always find a way to spread fear until we as a nation find a way to heal the disturbed minds of society. And until that time, it is the Second Amendment that enables us to walk without fear!
