Guns and cars

In response to the Jan. 4 letter written by Robert Bauer of South Park ("To Thwart a Big-time Killer, Go After Cars"), you must be kidding. You're comparing cars with guns? Do I really need to point out the intended use for each? You might want to look up the definition of a "red herring," which refers to a type of logical fallacy which is intentionally or unintentionally misleading or distracting from the actual issue.

I'm a strong believer in the Second Amendment but given recent events do we not need to have a discussion on safer gun laws? Or are you paranoid like some that any discussion will ultimately result in all guns being taken away?
