Times have really been bad here in the United States beginning in the last two years of the George W. Bush presidency. We are slowly pulling out of the second-worst Depression of my lifetime. The all-American pledge by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to make President Barack Obama a one-term president has certainly added to the timeline for our country's economic recovery. Job one for Mitch.
What may be of even greater concern to all of us is that more than half of Mitt Romney's foreign policy advisers are reputed to be past advisers to George W. Bush. These foreign policy advisers are called in polite society chickenhawks; in impolite society they are called yellow cowards.
These are men who were never in a war. These are the very same cowards who will fight a war down to the last drop of your children's or grandchildren's blood. These are the despicable people who helped President Bush lie us into an immoral, unpaid for, $3 trillion war in Iraq. The real tragedy of that war is the human cost -- more than 4,500 dead, more than 30,000 wounded and ongoing reports of veteran suicides.
Mitt Romney is very much like these advisers as he wanted us to be at war in Vietnam, but he just did not want to be there himself. It looks as though a Romney presidency would be a second coming of George W. Bush. Please vote for President Barack Obama, a proven leader and commander in chief. Our children and their children will thank you.
