Focus on fracking

With regards to your Business Section article on Matt Damon's fracking movie "Promised Land" ("Putting Fracking in Focus," Dec. 7), the back and forth between movie stars and natural gas companies sorely misses the point. Instead of coverage of public-relations machinations, we need serious investigations of recent reports of the impact of fracking on agriculture and on earthquakes.

Having a local newspaper that provides in-depth reporting on the details of such vital issues, while leaving the movie reviews to the arts editors, would truly make Pittsburgh one step closer to being The Promised Land.
