Consider the National Rifle Association executive vice president Wayne LaPierre's comments on fortifying schools with armed guards. Funds that our government would put forth to finance this idea would be much better used in buying back these monster guns -- then, destroying them.
Hunting guns are appropriate; the semi-automatic, rapid-firing weapons are totally unnecessary for civilians.
