Fans and food drive

Last Saturday, student-athletes from Duquesne University and Robert Morris University spearheaded a food drive at Joe Walton Stadium in Moon. While the two schools met on the football field as part of their annual crosstown game, the two also worked in cooperation to gather an estimated 3,000-plus nonperishable items that were subsequently donated to the West Hills Food Pantry in Moon.
The two universities' student-athlete advisory committees are to be commended for their community service. We'd also like to thank all the fans from both schools who donated to this effort, and we are looking forward to our third annual food drive when the teams meet again in 2013.
