Our family wants to thank the public for all the cards, prayers and tokens of love that were sent in honor of Sgt. Perry J.D. Vahaly of the South Park barracks of the Allegheny County Police Department, who recently was laid to rest ("Collision Between Deer, Cycle Kills Longtime County Police Officer," Sept. 3). We also want to thank all the police departments that were represented and the SWAT team, which he was part of and loved.
