Defeat is never easy, acceptance is harder

Bob Wagner ("Dragging us Down" Nov. 26 letters) has apparently joined the unceasing number of letter writers, op-ed contributors and media commentators who are having difficulty accepting the reality of the recent nationwide election in which President Barack Obama was reelected along with present members of Congress.
He decries Mr. Obama's second term and the perpetuation of elected officials in the absence of term limits and concludes that "these people make me sick."
So, I would like to offer Mr. Wagner a prescription-like remedy that may be found in the words of the Persian philosopher Omar Khayyam (1048-1131) who famously wrote:
The moving finger writes; and having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it."
Tough medicine, admittedly, but, hopefully it will do the trick.
