Costas on guns
Share with others:
Two weeks ago NBC Football's Bob Costas had the courage to comment about the tragic shooting death of an NFL player and his child's mother in a murder-suicide. Mr. Costas gave a thoughtful and intelligent opinion of an article by Jason Whitlock which stated that the easy availability of firearms contributes to gun violence nationwide. Led by the National Rifle Association, the gun lovers of America went ballistic (wild). They attacked Mr. Costas repeatedly for even suggesting that too many guns are a dangerous problem.
But even as Mr. Costas' truthfulness was being crushed down and quieted, the violence continued.
Big cities, small towns, rich suburbs, private homes, ghettos, movie theaters, shopping malls and our precious little children's schools come under attack because everyone has an outdated Second Amendment right to have guns. Question: If our elected presidents, congressmen and other public officials will not speak or act this time and Bob Costas is booed off the stage, then who will say to the American family, enough is enough?
