Corbett's choice

My husband and I moved here to start a family. We were convinced by the universities, hospitals, quality public schools and parks. Now these assets are devastated by Gov. Tom Corbett's cuts. At the same time, Pennsylvania loses nearly $1 billion a year to corporate tax loopholes. Corporations should pay their fair share in contributing to our great state, as we do, in taxes.
Shortly after Newtown, one of my daughter's teachers at Pittsburgh Fulton PreK-5 said, "I had nightmares all night because I kept trying to figure out where I could put the children to keep them safe." She is one of many teachers, heroes, who guard the well-being of America's children. I wish Mr. Corbett held our children and our families in such high esteem.
Gov. Corbett has a choice. He can stand with the teacher who will shield her students from a gunman. He can be loyal to the nurses who cared for him at Allegheny General Hospital after his surgery. He can champion for first responders who rescue citizens. He can stand with the aide who dignifies those of our greatest generation by caring for them in their own homes. He can revitalize our hospitals and communities by drawing down the billions already set aside for Pennsylvania. Or he can continue picking the pockets of Pennsylvania families to buy another round for his buddies.
Truth be told, Pennsylvanians simply can't afford to enable Gov. Corbett to put his corporate cronies ahead of working families.
