Congress must raise taxes on the wealthy

In the election just past, I voted for progress in our approach to taxes. I am still waiting to see legislators have the courage to remove the political roadblocks which are bringing us closer daily to the "fiscal cliff".

This 112th Congress has been an aching disappointment to those of us who are middle class voters. I am a social worker who has raised two children on my own and worked hard throughout my career. To have a Congress which has been the least productive in my lifetime (I am 66 years old) take an extensive vacation with no progress on the record was, in my opinion, an obscenity.

I am strongly asking that taxes be raised on the wealthiest and that tax protections be extended for the middle class. As a voter who voted for tax fairness, I hope all in Congress recognize that we who are moderate progressives are watching intently.
