Bishops and reform

When I saw the headline "An Oversupply of 'Nones,' " on the op-ed piece by Bishop David Zubik in last Monday's Post-Gazette, I at first thought there was a misspelling. Given the recent attacks on Catholic women religious by the male hierarchy, it seemed to me logical that one of them should finally admit their fear of being supplanted by the "nuns" who put feeding the poor above feeding their male egos. Alas, it was not so.

The piece was just another lament about the disintegration of the Catholic Church without mention of the cause -- the bishops' obstinate refusal to accept the reforms of the Second Vatican Council. When, oh, when, will they get it?
