Ben Carson delusion
Share with others:
Out of necessity, the Republicans are looking to invent a new national image and are lately fantasizing about the prospect of Dr. Ben Carson giving them a hand -- apparently simply because he is not one of the usual suspects, is very intelligent and is soothingly anti-Obama. What they may be forgetting to consider is that the GOP needs new ideas, not just a fresh face who can calmly deliver the same obstructionist mantra.
Ben Carson is the Susan Boyle of Republican candidates. Wow, a guy who's not a real politician, but does a good enough imitation that he just might be able to be one. He will sell lots of books and enjoy an inexplicably surprising number of loyal fans, but not as a result of any extraordinary political talents or potential viability as a national candidate.
Like Ms. Boyle, Dr. Carson deserves credit for being able to "carry a tune" somewhat better than the average person, but come on, people -- president?
