Be fully informed

I am a long-standing Democrat and I must admit that in the past I have sometimes voted for the party and not the man. However, with this election we can't afford to be complacent or indecisive. It's up to us to choose the right man. We should not choose the man based on personality or likability. We should make our choice based on his accomplishments, values and vision.

We have to take the time to be informed and not be swayed by meaningless rhetoric or saccharine platitudes. Sometimes words are just words. We have to attempt to filter out negative ads and scrutinize any media bias. It is imperative that we listen carefully to what Barack Obama has to say and to what Mitt Romney has to say. Really listen.

It may seem painful, but we should also listen to that "other" channel. Really listen. We can't afford to be nonchalant. Our future and our children's future depends on it. It's up to us.
