Temperatures are expected to go into the 60s today and Sunday, but by Monday, the thermometer will be back in the 30s.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for a high today of 64 degrees and a high Sunday of 62.
Showers are likely tonight, mainly before 2 a.m. The low will be around 54.
More rain is expected on Sunday, but the rain will taper off late at night. The low will drop to 35 degrees.
On Monday, the high will be near 35. The cold trend of highs in the 30s will continue at least through Friday. However, the forecast at this point does not include a chance of snow showers until Thursday.
The change in temperature will be the result of a strong cold front which is pushing through the middle of the country, according to the National Weather Service.
A slowly moving warm front ahead of the cold front is responsible for this weekend's rain, said Lee Hendricks, meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
