The flag-draped casket of Geraldine Ferraro, the Democratic vice presidential candidate in 1984, is carried Thursday from the Church of Saint Vincent in New York City. Ms. Ferraro died Saturday at age 75 of multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer. "She is seen correctly as paving the way for my political career and those of many other women," said Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who, like her husband, former President Bill Clinton, spoke at the service. Ms. Ferraro, a congresswoman from New York, ran on the ticket headed by Walter F. Mondale, and was the first female candidate for vice president from a major party.
