Traffic restrictions scheduled Downtown tonight

Monday night's rain is leading to changing traffic patterns Downtown tonight.
The westbound Parkway East will be closed at Grant Street at 9 tonight and be open Wednesday night in a schedule change announced by PennDOT this afternoon.
The original schedule called for the highway to stay open tonight and close Wednesday night but was changed because of Monday night's rainy weather. The parkway will reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Also, PennDOT will perform line painting operations tonight and Wednesday night on the Portal Bridge that connects the Fort Duquesne Bridge to the Fort Pitt Bridge and Parkway East.
The work will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night and will result in several short-term lane and ramp closures.
The work had been scheduled Monday.
