Sign inspections, survey work to cause some traffic restrictions

Shoulders in both directions of the Parkway West between the Fort Pitt Tunnel and I-79 interchange will be closed for survey work starting Wednesday.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation expects no lane closures or traffic restrictions but drivers should stay alert for crews surveying for future Parkway bridge and roadway upgrades.
The shoulders will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through March.
PennDOT District 11 is announcing overhead sign safety inspections on multiple roadways in Allegheny County will occur on Thursday and Friday, weather permitting.
Work requiring intermittent single-lane closures and traffic shifts will occur in the following locations and timeframes:
Thursday: I-376 (Parkway West Exit 65) Carnegie off-ramp in the Borough of Carnegie; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Route 51 both directions across the Elizabeth Bridge in Elizabeth Township, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday: Route 910 (Indianola Road) at the Route 28 interchange in Harmar Township, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Bigelow Boulevard and Bedford Avenue in the area of Crosstown Boulevard in Pittsburgh; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Route 837 (West Carson Street) in the area of the West End Bridge/Saw Mill Run Boulevard intersection in Pittsburgh; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
