PennDOT today postponed plans to close the northbound Portal Bridge and several other nearby ramps this weekend for resurfacing, citing the forecast for rain.

The department had planned to close six ramps from Friday evening through early Monday as part of a continuing $8.7 million project to improve about 26 ramps and road sections connecting Downtown and the interstate system.

The current National Weather Service forecast calls for a 40 percent chance of thundershowers throughout the weekend.
