A tractor-trailer carrying cows overturned and caught fire this morning on Interstate 80 near Route 322 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Westbound lanes of I-80 were closed for about six hours for cleanup. Lanes in both directions were closed for several hours earlier this morning.

The crash restricted traffic on I-80 between routes 66 and 322 southeast of Strattanville.

State police said bad weather was likely to blame for the crash, which was reported about 2:10 a.m.

State police don't believe the tractor-trailer driver was injured. Information about whether other vehicles were involved in the crash was not available immediately.

State police said "a couple" of the cows on the tractor-trailer had to be euthanized this morning.
