Bruce Springsteen plans to make a Pittsburgh campaign appearance on behalf of President Barack Obama Saturday before his sold-out concert at the Consol Energy Center.

Springsteen will make a special appearance at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland at 2 p.m., according to the Obama campaign.

The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are required and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at local Obama campaign offices beginning at noon on Friday, according to campaign officials.

The three Pittsburgh-area campaign offices are located: at 1400 Smallman St. in the Strip District; 115 Atwood St. in Oakland; and at 200 N. Highland Ave. in East Liberty

The New Jersey rocker and Democrat did events for Mr. Obama in the last week in the battleground states Ohio, Iowa and Virginia, and posted an endorsement on his official website.
