The second-in-command of the Allegheny County district attorney's office is leaving to become the court's deputy administrator.

Christopher Connors, who has worked for the prosecutor's office since 1988, became the first assistant and chief of staff in 2005 under District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr.

Before his promotion, Mr. Connors served as the deputy in charge of the domestic violence unit when it was first created in the office.

He will serve as the deputy court administrator and become an employee of the state of Pennsylvania. Members of the DA's office are employed by the county.

Mr. Connors starts his new job Monday. The opening was created when the former deputy, Claire Capristo, was promoted to court administrator.

A spokesman for the DA's office would not comment on who might succeed Mr. Connors.
