All spots in the May 15 Dick's Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon sold out last week.
The UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon (with 10,000 spots) and Fed Ex Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay (800 teams) sold out weeks ago, according to Karen Fredette, spokeswoman for the marathon events.
For the 26.2-mile marathon, 6,000 people have registered, bringing to roughly 18,000 the number of entries for the three major Sunday races.
There are still spots open for the recently added 5K event, which will be held Saturday, May 14, along with a 1-mile fun run for children. The UPMC Health Plan/UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K Run can include up to 2,000 participants, and the Toyota of Pittsburgh Kids Marathon 1-Mile Fun Run, 1,500 entries.
