• Excela Health, in cooperation with the American Heart Association, is sponsoring a "Buzz on Women's Health," featuring presentations from the health concern's female cardiologists, at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 21 at Ferrante's Lakeview, 6153 Lincoln Highway, Hempfield. Presentations comprise "Be Still My Racing Heart" by Dr. Maliha Zahid and "The Heart Throb Women Ignore" by Dr. Andrea Berger. In addition, dietitian Dawn Davoli is to "Satisfy a Healthy Heart's Desire" with a cooking demonstration. Guests are welcome to sample her cookie recipe as the event's dessert. • The Allegheny County Health Department is accepting nominations until March 9 for its annual Enviro Star awards, to be announced in conjunction with Earth Day, April 22 and honor local businesses and organizations for voluntary pollution prevention practices undertaken in 2011.
