The University of Pittsburgh yesterday unveiled a Web site giving the public access to text and photos in the school's archives, from yearbooks and commencement programs to various Pitt publications.

Documenting Pitt: Historical Publications and Images of the University of Pittsburgh may be used to view media guides, chancellor reports, commencement programs, fact books, university catalogs and other Pitt-produced publications.

Some 70,000 pages of text and images dating to the 1800s were digitized as part of the project.
