Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School firings unanimous, board says

In its first public statement since firing four top staff members Monday evening, the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School's board said today that the votes to terminate were unanimous.
"Drastic times call for drastic measures, but all has been going well," school chief executive officer Michael Conti said in a press release. "This decision represents a redirection of our administration."
The school's board fired director Andrew Oberg, finance director Scott Antoline, personnel director Nancy Yanyanin and compliance officer Judy Shopp on Monday.
The Midland-based school, which serves more than 10,000 students statewide, was the subject of a search warrant executed by the FBI and IRS in July.
Mr. Conti said in his written statement today the school would "cooperate" with "all inquiries" from federal and Pennsylvania authorities.
"None of our students will be adversely affected by the board's decision," Mr. Conti said in the written statement. "We have a deep bench of talented staff, who are cross trained, highly motivated, and have demonstrated their ability to shine through, particularly when circumstances dictate that we need them the most."
