The Gateway School District has named its choice for a new superintendent.

The post was left vacant in April when Superintendent Joseph A. Petrella accepted a job in an Illinois school district.

The district has extended an offer to Nina Zetty, who is now superintendent of the Peters School District, a post she has held since August 2008, according to Gateway's acting superintendent, Bob Reger. Prior to assuming the top job, Ms. Zetty was the assistant superintendent in that district from 2006 to 2008.

She holds a doctorate from West Virginia University and bachelor's and master's degrees from California University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Reger said.

The Gateway school board will vote to approve Ms. Zetty's hiring during its Wednesday meeting.
