Two people were fatally shot and a third injured following an apparent domestic dispute tonight outside the Cozy Inn in Murrysville, just off of Route 22, according to police.

Murrysville police Chief Thomas Seefeld said a man and a woman were killed shortly before 7:30 p.m. Another woman was flown to Allegheny General Hospital. Police said she was shot in the upper torso and described her condition as stable.

The chief said investigators believe the man fatally shot one woman, and injured the other, but stopped short of characterizing the shooting as a murder-suicide.

Chief Seefeld said the shooting took place in the bar's parking lot, but that the Cozy Inn was closed at the time and the victims were not patrons. The man and the woman were dead before police arrived on scene.

He said two 911 calls for shots fired came in to police -- one from a passerby and another from a motorist.

Police were withholding the names and ages of the victims pending notification of family. Chief Seefeld said the three are not related to each other.
