A man died in Donegal Township when he was pinned under a burning tractor on Monday.

John Ackerman, deputy coroner of Westmoreland County, identified the man as Floyd G. Snyder Jr., 56, of Stahlstown, and said his cause of death was thermal injuries.

Mr. Ackerman said Mr. Snyder was gathering hay on his father's farm at 477 Jones Mills Stahlstown Road in Donegal around 1:40 p.m. when the tractor overturned, pinning him underneath.

A fire ensued and was fueled by gasoline leaking from the tractor's fuel tank. Mr. Snyder was unable to escape from beneath the tractor and died at the scene.

Snyder Funeral Home of Ligonier will be handling funeral arrangements.
