A teenager who survived a car crash in Murrysville Saturday morning was fatally struck by a pickup truck rushing past the accident scene moments later, officials said.

Andrew Lysell, 18, of Export was a passenger in a car heading east on Saltsburg Road when the driver passed Cole Road about 5:30 a.m., lost control and crossed the highway. The car ran up the side of the road and flipped over, Murrysville police said.

The driver, whose name has not been released, exited the car and walked safely to the side of the road. When Mr. Lysell tried to get out of the car, a pickup truck moving "at a high rate of speed" hit both the overturned car and Mr. Lysell, according to officials.
