Sentencing for an AWOL soldier who killed a Western Pennsylvania businessman was delayed so his attorney could find an expert to testify that the soldier was traumatized by being raped by the victim as a child.

Anthony Mowry, 20, was scheduled for sentencing Tuesday after he was convicted last year of voluntary manslaughter and other crimes in the September 2008 beating death of William Jones, 75.

Westmoreland County prosecutors had sought a first-degree murder conviction, saying Mr. Mowry went to Mr. Jones' home intending to hurt or kill him.

But Mr. Mowry's attorney contends he defendant has post-traumatic stress disorder, claiming Mr. Jones sexually assaulted Mr. Mowry as a teen -- which was not reported at the time.

A new sentencing date wasn't set.
