A Scottdale woman was killed in an early morning crash in Mount Pleasant.
The Westmoreland County coroner's office identified the woman as 43-year-old Cinnamon M. Everhart.
Ms. Everhart was driving a Ford Explorer near the intersection of Church and Main streets when she crossed the center line and left the berm, deputy coroner Sean Hribal said. At about 3:03 a.m., she crashed into multiple steel pipes filled with concrete that are used as a walkway guide rail.
Ms. Everhart was not wearing a seatbelt and authorities believe she was speeding at the time of the crash, Mr. Hribal said.
No other vehicles were involved, and Ms. Everhart was the only person in the SUV.
She was taken to Excela-Health Frick Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:35 a.m.
Autopsy results are pending toxicology tests.
