Members of the state police Special Emergency Response Team were called in to assist with the standoff, which began at 1:46 a.m. at the home in the 3400 block of Waugaman Drive, according to Lower Burrell police.
Police said Michael Hubert, 37, surrendered to police shortly after 9 a.m. No injuries were reported. Police said Mr. Hubert is charged with recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and harassment.
Police said the incident began when officers arrived at the home to investigate a domestic assault between Mr. Hubert and his girlfriend. Police said the girlfriend ran out of the house and told police Mr. Hubert had fired a gun inside. Despite numerous attempts to make contact with Mr. Hubert, SERT was called in for assistance and he eventually surrendered.
Police said Mr. Hubert already faces charges in an incident 10 days ago in which he fired a semiautomatic gun outside in his neighborhood.
