The body of a Mount Pleasant man was found this morning after his vehicle crashed into a steep embankment off Route 119 in Hempfield.

According to the Westmoreland County coroner's office, the body of David Edward Williams, 40, was found about 8 a.m. Deputy coroner John Ackerman pronounced him dead at 9:14 a.m.

The crash likely happened hours before Mr. Williams was found because the embankment would have obscured the view of others driving on Route 119, according to the coroner's office.

Mr. Williams was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and no one else was in the car. A toxicology report is pending.
