Man to face homicide trial in death of girlfriend

A Westmoreland County man has been ordered to stand trial on a charge that he beat his girlfriend to death after she refused to clean up a dropped bowl of noodles.
Magisterial District Judge Mark Mansour found during a preliminary hearing Monday that there was enough evidence to hold Keith Kruel, 38, of Hempfield, for trial in the November death of 40-year-old Tina Marie Ohler.
Mr. Kruel is currently being held in the Westmoreland County Prison without the possibility of bail on a charge of criminal homicide. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 4 for a formal arraignment.
