Man killed in Ligonier crash is identified

The Westmoreland County coroner's office has identified a man killed in a car crash in Ligonier as 69-year-old Eric J. Astin.

Mr. Astin, of Ligonier, was driving north on Route 711 near Darlington Road about 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, when he crossed the center line and struck a utility pole and two trees, according to the coroner's office.
