Man killed in fall from Ligonier roof identified

A man who died Tuesday after falling off a roof in Ligonier has been identified as a 53-year-old Johnstown man, according to the Westmoreland County medical examiner's office.

Cian Yates was putting up a roof on a business at 321 West Main St. when he fell onto the asphalt parking lot below around 5 p.m.

He suffered head injuries and was declared dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner's office.

Cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy today.
