Man dies in Westmoreland County fire

A man who used a wheelchair perished after his trailer caught fire early today in North Huntingdon.
Dale W. Shields, 63, died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, the Westmoreland County Coroner's office ruled. His death was ruled accidental.
North Huntingdon police said the fire was reported in Mr. Shields' trailer, located at 433 Maryland Drive, at 3:49 this morning.
He was unable to escape the blaze and was found dead inside the home. Police are investigating, but said the fire is not suspicious.
