Five injured in Westmoreland County crash

Five people were injured when a car and a van collided in Westmoreland County this morning.

An emergency dispatcher said the crash occurred on County Road in Loyalhanna shortly before 9 a.m.

Police told dispatchers three people were riding in the van and two people were riding in the car. They requested three helicopters to take people to hospitals.

The conditions and ages of the injured were not immediately available.

Pennsylvania State Police in Kiski Valley are investigating.
