Fire strikes popular Delmont restaurant

A fire that broke out at a Delmont restaurant this morning is under control.
The blaze started shortly before 9 a.m. at Carney's Corner, off Route 66, and firefighters initially believed people may have been inside because a father and two children live upstairs in a rental unit.
But the children had already left for school and the father was at work, said Dan Stevens, public safety spokesman in Westmoreland County.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury, but no one else was hurt, he said.
The state police fire marshal is investigating.
