A driver crashed into a door of a Westmoreland County polling place this morning, causing little disruption to the voting process and injuring no one, fire officials said.

The crash happened at the Harrison City Volunteer Fire Department's social club on Mill Street about 11:30 a.m. Preliminary damage estimates were not immediately available.

Fire officials said they suspect that the driver thought the car was in reverse when it was actually in drive.

Voting was not disturbed. Poll workers simply directed people to enter the building through another door, fire officials said.

Penn Township police, who could not immediately be reached for comment, are investigating.
