An incident that ended in the deaths of two people has been ruled by the Westmoreland County coroner a murder-suicide.
A news release from Coroner Kenneth A. Bacha notes that Michael L. Lunsford Jr., 21, of Murrysville, shot to death Gina M. Llewellyn, 50, of Allegheny Township, before turning the weapon on himself. He shot himself in the head, Mr. Bacha said.
The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday outside the Cozy Inn Restaurant and Bar, just off of Route 22 in Murrysville. Mr. Bacha indicated that neither person was a patron at the establishment.
A third person was shot during what appeared to be a domestic dispute. Murrysville police Chief Thomas Seefeld said the woman was flown to Allegheny General Hospital, North Side. Police said she was shot in the upper torso and described her condition Saturday as stable.
Chief Seefeld said the shooting took place in the bar's parking lot, but that the Cozy Inn was closed at the time and the victims were not patrons.
