Claim he was duped into wedlock dismissed

A lawsuit filed on Wednesday by a Ligonier attorney who claimed that his wife duped him into marriage was dismissed Friday by a judge who said it didn't raise any questions of federal law.
James Russell McGregor Jr., son of the late Allegheny County Common Pleas judge for whom he is named, sued in U.S. District Court claiming that his wife, Jacqueline, committed fraud when they married five years ago. In a lawsuit he filed himself, Mr. McGregor claimed that she was after his family's money.
She had filed for divorce eight days earlier but said in a phone interview that she really didn't want a divorce and had never been after any family wealth.
U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer found that Mr. McGregor's arguments for federal jurisdiction are "woefully deficient," and dismissed the case without prejudice. That means he can file again in federal court or other courts.
Federal court typically hears cases involving questions of federal law, or in which the parties are from different states.
