A Burgettstown woman was killed Thursday afternoon in a vehicle crash in Washington County that sent two other people to the hospital.

Debra L. Strong, 57, was killed when the Chevrolet sedan she was riding in struck a GMC pickup truck head-on about 1:15 p.m. on Route 18 at Log Cabin Road in Hanover, Washington County coroner Tim Warco said in a news release.

Ms. Strong was a passenger in the sedan that had passed another vehicle, also headed northbound on Route 18, when the sedan struck a southbound truck in the southbound lane, Mr. Warco said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 2:42 p.m., he said. The sedan's driver and an occupant of the truck were taken to local hospitals, Mr. Warco said.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
