A Washington County fire official was arrested Friday after police accused him of stealing from the department he helped run.

R.E.S.A. Regional police said they found during their investigation that two people -- Victor Fedrick and his wife Traci Fedrick, also an officer with the fire company -- withdrew $9,210 from the department account between May 2010 and December 2010 and used the money for purchases that weren't related to "fire company business."

They also wrote in a criminal complaint that the pair used a gas card owned by the department to purchase more than $4,000 in gasoline between January 2011 and October 2011. The department cars run on diesel, police said.

Mr. Fedrick was being held in the Washington County Correctional Facility Friday night on $75,000 bond, according to the jail's records. Ms. Fedrick had not been charged with any crimes on Friday night, according to online court records.
