A contract driver for the U.S. Postal Service was indicted Tuesday, accused of stealing more than $3,800 in gift cards, cash and $120 opera tickets from a Washington, Pa., post office last year.

Federal prosecutors say John Marianov, 57, of Washington, who is not an employee of the Postal Service, also stole $400 in checks and $80 in money orders from a mail depository at the Washington post office on Jefferson Avenue.

He has been charged with one felony count of mail theft.

The items were sent from Pennsylvania addresses in Venetia, Finleyville, Amity, Elizabeth, Connellsville and Merrittstown and one in Alexandra, Va.
