Police arrested two teenagers this week after they received a pair of threats saying there would be shootings in Hopewell High School.
The first teenager posted a message on Facebook that "insinuated a possible shooting to occur in the school," Hopewell police wrote in a news release. That person was charged with making terroristic threats.
Another teenager was charged with making terroristic threats and threatening to use weapons of mass destruction after police said they found a message written on the stall in a boys' bathroom that said someone would bring a 9 mm handgun to school and start shooting at 9:15 a.m. on Friday.
Police have not released the names of either of the children because they are younger than 18.
Police said both children were released to their parents and the district intends to discipline them. Officers have been assigned to monitor school buildings as a precaution.
