A Pittsburgh man was arrested today on charges that he fatally shot a man outside a Washington bar last month.

Henry D. Williams, 29, surrendered to McKeesport and Washington police who confronted him earlier today, said Washington County assistant district attorney Mike Lucas.

Mr. Williams had eluded police for nearly a month. Witnesses helped investigators connect Mr. Williams to the May 24 shooting of Rensfield Jarvis, 23, outside Pickles Saloon.

Mr. Jarvis, who had recently moved from New York City to Washington, had been outside the bar for only a few minutes when he was shot several times in the chest and head, officials have said.

Mr. Williams was arraigned about 2 p.m. today on one count of homicide and several firearms violations. He is being held in the Washington County Correctional Facility without bond, according to online court records.
